Math Project

Day 1

The total text pages for the book, besides the index and the appendix, is 273 pages. It consists of 10 chapters. Today's goal is to go through the first three chapters, skimming, and ask myself the following questions:

1. What jargon is catching me off guard or seems difficult at this stage?

2. What math equations are present and are they unknown to me or recognizable?

3. Are the equations well defined in the book or what will require outside research?

4. Which concepts spark interest? For those that do, how would I like to go about deeper research?

I will work on that and then put the answers below.

1. Most of what I'm seeing covered in the first 3 chapters are completely foreign to me, beyond a few symbols and general concepts. I am actually surprised at how little I know, but that's part of the joy of doing something new.

2. The equations are well ddefined inside the text, but only in the sense of each symbol being explained. The concepts are still a mystery.

3. So far the wording is overwhelming enough that nothing stands out yet. I will share resources I find in a separate area on this page.

4. Also, there are problems at the end of each chapter and no answers in the book. I will still attempt them.
